With all the pollen in the air I bought this hoping to clear up nasal congestion and sneezing. It's fairly quiet, which is nice since it sits very close to my chair. It seems to help clear the air in the room a bit. I even checked our power consumption and I don't think it affected it negatively. The only thing I don't really like is the controls - they're not very intuitive, so I have to keep flipping through a small instruction manual to figure out how to set them up.
