***Edit: I've always had worse chargers but in less than 6 months I had to have these repaired. It only started loading sporadically and then not at all. I took a closer look at the wiring and it appears that the slipping of the outer sheath of the wiring was causing the sheathing of the internal wires to rub against each other, peeling off the sheathing and fraying the wiring. I took a pair of nail clippers, cut the plastic where the wires connect to the small circuit board near the connection to the surface, untied the ends of the wire, trimmed the frayed ends, resoldered the wires and carefully wrapped everything with tape a. and he earned again. ***Original: I had at least 3 replacement chargers for my Surface Pro 3. After about 2 months this is the best of them all. It's compact, looks pretty solid, and has a good cable length. The light isn't too bright, and unlike some others, it only turns on when the Surface has power (rather than just when it's plugged in). It has a separate LED on the device that indicates when it is connected. I did notice that the cord pulls a bit near the plug, but I'm pretty rough with my chargers and this was the end of a few of them, including the MS original. I expect that with a bit of tape to prevent exposing the wires it will last a while.
