Review on Bucilla 86165 Christmas Stocking Applique by Michelle Langley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

advanced project. Lots of very small details.

This is my 20th stocking for relatives. The only thing I don't like about the Busilla stockings is the dark colored print on the felt because if your embroidery wears even a little bit, the ink will show. After I've embroidered and the ink has developed, I carefully try to pull the print out with tweezers and small scissors. There are many small parts in this stocking. I feel like a person needs to be really organized so the pieces don't get lost. I cut pieces (with a number) according to the color and put each color in bags.2. I will sew sequins, embroider them and sew details. (i.e. the ball is red and green, sewn on gold).3. I will also assemble the pieces for each design. For example the ball on this stocking (ie gold, green and red pieces).4. Start laying the details from back to front. (e.g. boots, white lapel, then red pant leg, etc.). As you can see I like to add a bit of my own touch. My nephew has a dog named Sophie so I made a pawprint pattern and embroidered the print and her name onto a small tag. It's attached to the ball. FYI: Doll shoes couldn't be embroidered, so I made felt shoes. She changed from a size 2 to a size 7 🤣😂 so I made a pawprint pattern and embroidered the print and her name onto a small tag.
