I know you're being warned that this isn't a camera for photographers, but if a seasoned amateur photographer can't get decent shots with this camera, and more than half the recordings come out, you are shocked even though anti-shake is activated, then you must be wondering, who is this camera for? They say it's great for kids and the elderly - are they much better at holding the camera steady? Also, it's not just about keeping the camera steady, the subject you're photographing needs to be completely still too - especially if you're not outside on a sunny day, forget about evening photos even with a flash. I bought 2 for my kids to use at camp where cell phones are banned but I know there will be gunfire at night and kids don't do it perfectly still to pose so that's all not good. I've tried different settings such as B. changing MP and ISO to suit conditions when the sun isn't shining, but images are still streaky when someone moves. The video is even worse! I had a standard 5 megapixel mid-range camera in 2001, compared to this 20 megapixel camera, it took much better pictures, nicer and clearer! I guess I was hoping to get something close to 18 year old technology. I'm not quite sure who I would recommend this camera to? I will send it back immediately, False advertising!
