I bought this comb because my teenage girl has beautiful long straight thin hair all the way back and she just runs and plays so hard like her little brother, resulting in incredibly messy hair. Although she was a rather quiet child, we argued every day about combing her hair. She would claim to have done it while her hair was simply tied back in a super sloppy ponytail, untouched by a comb or brush. If I offered it, she would accept me and wince, whimper and complain while I dealt with the crazy cobwebs (which even I found hard to deal with at times). Since the introduction of this comb, we've had three occasions to fight over her hair and so far there hasn't been a single fight. I wasn't sure what to expect as we didn't have a terrible comb before or just a comb but my daughter is very happy with it, she says it makes her hair "so pretty" - that's true as it does is now actually brushed ! We haven't had it long enough to know how well it will hold up over time, but it looks well made. The handle and backrest are a comfortable weight, and the bristles and cushion appear to be of good quality. I am happy with this purchase.
