The product description is not a solution. The product came with standard nuts, NOT nuts. It's definitely a good idea to get some washers to prevent snagging the nuts or damaging the hole pattern on the rim. If you're using a small 8" wheel, plan on placing a small 2x4 block behind the bracket to shorten the remaining clearance to ensure you don't run out of threaded rod when tightening the trailer.
