Seams are totally waterproof, fits my bike perfectly like it was made for him. 2 elastic straps on each side are conveniently attached for attaching to footrest + shifter/footrest + rear brake. Wasn't blown away during Hurricane Isaias, nor did it leak water. No complaints! Yes, it's heavy and a bit clunky. I don't see how you can have a high performance waterproof coating when it doesn't. Worked great with a short windshield or a large windshield I attached to my bike and the soft material inside didn't scratch it at all. Definitely recommend to anyone leaving their bike outside.
