well the top leans back to put batteries in but there really isn't anything holding the batteries in the case. So if it's turned upside down or hit the wrong way, the batteries will constantly fall out to the top of the mushroom. Because the lid has been removed so many times, it no longer closes properly, so very often it ends up not being a pretty mushroom, let alone a component board on a tree stump. but it does a good job of sucking up all the little things. and has bristles on the underside that help with fabric and padding.
