V-6 Muffler Info 2003 Ford F150

Purchased a Walker PN 18577 (from another location) as a replacement muffler for a 2003 Ford F150 Supercab V-6 when the original exhaust failed at the tailpipe/exhaust pipe joint (after 163,000 miles; not too badly damaged). As mentioned in the previous review, this muffler is shorter than stock. On my '03, the OEM muffler is 32 inches long. This replacement is 22 inch. Also, Ford eliminated the tailpipe between the catalytic converter and the muffler. For my application, the Walker PN 54129 exhaust is perfect. It's 39 inches long and doesn't need to be trimmed to fit this wheelbase. DO NOT use Walker PN 52153 as an exhaust pipe. 23 inches is too small. I found the exhaust pipe cheaper at my local parts store than elsewhere on the internet. Everything nicely packed. With this setup, the first hanger after the cat is not used due to the shorter muffler. The hanger behind the muffler and the exhaust hanger behind the axle keep everything in place. I haven't noticed any sagging. Ford offers an OEM muffler and tailpipe combo for this truck but over $450 thanks but no thanks.
