Out of the box good looks, solid construction and pairs perfectly with a late 80's vintage silver toilet. However, the paint is not durable at all. I installed it about 3 months. After about a month of use, I noticed one night that my husband had spilled some urine on the underside of the seat. I grabbed a Lysol cloth to gently wipe/clean it and to my horror the silver paint came off with it! I mean it's a toilet seat so a drop of urine shouldn't dissolve the paint right?! Since then this has happened a few more times so my seat is now silver with white spots on the underside of the seat. It looks awful and unsanitary and I'm embarrassed that anyone will come because they will see it, but what's worse is that it's the only silver round seat I need, so I'm (yes, right now) ordering another Sit. I'm trapped! I think this time I'll try to get it professionally clearcoated prior to installation - maybe that will help protect the paintwork. I am very dissatisfied with the build quality!
