When I first read the reviews I was skeptical that it "sticks" to the floor or is difficult to push/doesn't glide smoothly across the floor but I've generally had this problem Not . Before using them I noticed a little "film residue" so I quickly rinsed them in warm water with a little Dr. Bronner's SalSuds out. Rinse well and the slight chemical smell is gone and they no longer feel like they have a film on them. I've used them on tile, laminate and even in the bath at least 10 times and no problem! I think what's going on is that people either don't wash them before using them OR they wash them in detergents with fabric softeners/detergents/dryers that leave a chemical residue. Sure, they can smell and feel great on your clothes, and they appear to "clean" them, but they actually leave tons of residue that is extremely toxic to your body. 80% of what you put on your skin (in clothes - yes, it counts!) goes straight into the bloodstream. These toxic cleansers like Tide and Downy contain fake estrogenic compounds and affect your hormones. So, a little lesson on why you should really switch to natural cleaning products - because they really CLEAN your clothes or in this case your steam mop pads (leave no residue) ;)
