Pretty Cute Group; I love the design/print. The description says real leather so I hope it will hold up well and break in well. The smell (if you're one of those people who smells like leather?) is more plastic than leather, the way a new backpack or suitcase sometimes smells - but only if you actually smell it. It's nothing you could otherwise feel as long as it's hanging on your wrist. My main concern is to keep the edges as they are (see, they're starting to peel off. There are also a few spots where the edges haven't been fully trimmed, so you can see tiny bits of material still hanging. On the Hand I find that the edges are squared rather than rounded/polished which adds to my concerns about quality/durability There are two small loops behind the buckle to control the 'tail' The pictures also show a comparison of height Compared to the original Fitbit strap (Alta hr) This strap snaps in very firmly but is a bit thinner than the original so it doesn't quite line up with the bottom edge and I can really feel the corners of my Fitbit at the bottom.Overall I hope this lasts longer than I expected because I like the way it looks.
