These shoes are good for most things but not serious hiking unless you're picking up a rock. Any footwear will be slippery on the surface of the fiberglass pool. or slippery, wet concrete if they don't have suction cups. They are really comfortable for trips around the house/yard/store/great bike and cat riding. I wear a size 11 1/2, a size 11 fits perfectly so good luck with that. I would go down for active stuff and up for lying down (By the way, Pacjoy runs a whole size up, see my review). small gripe) The only reason they don't have five stars is because they don't dry quickly, my boat shoes dry just as quickly.
