Drain the gasoline to make it easier to pull out the tank.
Tagging the tank and old fuel pump before removing the old pump makes it easy to line up the new pump in the correct position for all electrical and hose connections. Tools are required to disconnect the fuel line and I used a large strap wrench to secure the pump to the tank's mounting ring. The pump worked as it should.
