I bought this to replace an old Cisco WET200. It was really designed for small businesses rather than home use and was reliable. I was concerned that I would not find a consumer product that was as reliable. I can't say much about the AC1300's setup utility as I haven't tried it. I put the machine on the AC1300 default VLAN and connected it to its default IP address and then set it up using a web browser. The interface is almost identical to my Buffalo router (which has Buffalo firmware, not dd-wrt). Although oddly my router's webpage has no issues in Firefox while the AC1300 doesn't show some things (like the send/save buttons). I had to use Internet Explorer. The signal strength of the AC1300 is much better than my old WiFi bridge. My old bridge handled 60-75% of the signal strength and I'm getting 100% with the AC1300. I haven't had to go back to configuration or turn it on and off since I set it up a month ago. It just worked. The only real hit would be that my old bridge had a POE (Power over Ethernet) connector, while the AC1300 doesn't have that feature, but I can't expect that from a product intended for home use.
