Connected the displayport of this adapter to the displayport out of my new Lenovo Gen 3 workstation dock connected to my new Thinkpad P53 laptop with Windows 10 . Then connected this adapter's DVD-D jack to my old trusty DVD-D to DVD-D cable that goes to my old trusty 24" Dell monitor. Before I bought this adapter, my DVD-D to DVD-D cable was connected to a Thinkpad W520 laptop, which worked flawlessly for years. I needed a simple solution to keep going without re-wiring, re-calibrating, re-terminating the signals and buying a new cable. I was skeptical. But it works and it's great. I simply plugged the adapter into the video cable chain with the monitor and computer off, turned on the computer and got the same HD video signal as my old Thinkpad system. No settings had to be made on the monitor or computer. Everything just worked. Saved me from buying a new cable and running it to my monitor at my desk. Then you need to agree on a new signal. Very impressed with this adapter for my specific needs. If you need something like this, stop reading and buy this adapter.
