I recently installed a small fridge in my bedroom and wanted to monitor the temperature inside so I know if leftovers and snacks are staying cold enough. Sodas and bottled drinks are fine at any temperature, but food needs to be kept below 40 degrees to be safe to eat. These thermometers do not require batteries. They work without a power source and can be used in a fridge or freezer. I put them in the fridge along with two other thermometers I had and the new ones showed the same readings as the old ones I was using and I know they are accurate. The color coding on the display is nice so you know exactly where the temperature should be, but I would have liked the display to be a bit bigger. It is to my credit that I did not pay attention to the dimensions indicated in the characteristics. Can't complain as the price is more than fair - currently less than $7 for a two pack.
