Smaller flakes make it easy to use in regular potting soils or with smaller bark for orchids. I like it a lot and you get a lot in a small package. It's vacuum sealed, so it doesnt take up a lot of room, but goes a long way. I feel it was well worth the price and I will be buying it again and again.What I usually find is bigger chunks that are meant for orchids or maybe something else. This one is a great size for soil amendment. I sprinkle a bit on top of all my potted plants periodically. It also works great as a soil dressing. Apply about 1/4 inch on top for an attractive topper instead of seeing soil.
