I bought this for my 4 month old as he is starting to need more stimulation and new toys. I didn't want anything noisy, or anything that required batteries, and this is the perfect thing to keep him engaged and entertained. I have used this both on his walker tray and with him just holding it. He has just started teething, or at least wanting to put everything in his mouth, so this toy will provide a lot of opportunities for that purpose! I love that this has a suction cup AND that it's detachable from the suction cup base, so he can use it multiple ways.
