I originally bought it for more luxurious backcountry camping. Even before this happened, we had a day without electricity in our house in 95-degree weather. The heat in the room was insane and we also have 4 dogs that felt the heat. The thing runs at full power most of the day and can move a lot more air than I thought it could. The remote is needed if it's hanging high and you don't want to get hacked, and I don't think it comes with a battery (bigger button battery, like in a spare AirTag I stole one from). Overall I'm impressed. Definitely recommend it if you need a powerful hanging fan. It also folds compactly to fit in a camp tarp storage bag to hang underneath.
