I bought these for the oval shape so it was a good choice. The oval shape is perfect for all three devices I use them in and their respective cases. In fact, I've found that some of the round connectors used in these types of cables don't fit snugly into the housing. I have these in my Kindle for kids, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy J3, all with cases and all fit well. Pros: Fits snugly, works great when plugged in, no slowdown in charging or data transfer. Cons: The magnet is a bit weaker than the round connectors my parents use. It turns off when I sneeze at it or just hang up. When he stands still, everything is fine, but a little nudge can confuse him. I know it's a tricky balancing act between too weak and too strong a magnet, but it could definitely be a little stronger.
