I've been setting up networks (including my own home) with Ubiquiti hotspots for years. They are very difficult to set up and I doubt I will ever be able to train anyone else to take my place. When one of my customers needed an upgrade, I chose these Cisco 140AC and 240AC APs (240AC for the client and 140AC for me). At first I was impressed by the ease with which they can be set up - you don't need a special controller or even controller software on your PC or phone. Simply use the web interface (according to the instructions) and you're done. Once configured, they just work. I haven't seen any glitches yet. In the farthest corners of my house, the signal is strong, the data transfer speed is fast, and I'm content. One oddity I noticed is that the web interface for configuring these devices can only be accessed over Wi-Fi. It is not accessible over the local network. Most of my computers are connected via LAN, and my portable devices (and TV) are connected via Wi-Fi. This means that if I need to set up a hotspot or even just check its status, I have to disconnect one of my computers from the local network and reconnect it via WiFi. It's a little annoying, but I'm wondering what to do when the Wi-Fi radio goes down. How do I access the device to turn it back on? I suspect the answer is that I need to do a hard reset and reconfigure the device. Maybe time will tell.
