Whoever came up with this is a genius. I used to yell at my kids and my husband to stop bending the base of the charger. It works well and looks well built. It's too early to comment on durability, but I expect it to last a lot longer than the old model. The only caveat is that it didn't work with my husband's super thick iPad case. However, he plans to cut a hole in the case, so everything should be fine after that.
