Love this pepper grinder, have had it for 10 years now. The wood around the adjuster cracked and fell off a few years ago, but it continued to function normally until it broke. I bought this item because it had an all metal movement. Many inexpensive grinders have grinding parts made of plastic, this one is made of metal. But it turned out that the metal parts on the bottom screw turned into a kind of plastic ring that was not visible behind the metal, and one of the protrusions where the screws entered eventually broke. Anyway, I was so happy with it that I bought exactly the same thing again, only I chose black instead of natural beech. The instructions for the new one suggested a long-term warranty, but I didn't want to suffer, moreover, the tree on the bottom disappeared (and not under warranty).
