I've had a lot of knots on my neck and shoulders for a long time. I also have a huge lump at the base of my neck due to stress and the way I sit wrong. I sit at my desk most of the time while working 10 hours 4 days a week. I don't have the time or money for a professional massage. I finally got one of these to see if it would help and I quickly realized I should have gotten one of these a long time ago! I confess I was surprised at how big it is, but I see that it is necessary for a good massage. Its weight provides just the right amount of pressure and the handle is long enough to reach your back. The first time I used it I couldn't believe how beautiful it was and I felt so relaxed. I apply it to my shoulders, neck and lower back where I have constant pain. It hurt in some places where the knot was so tight, but I could feel it loosening. After that, I felt a lump on my neck and it seemed to me that it had gotten smaller, and my husband confirmed that it looked smaller. So no more Quasimodo! My husband jealously watched me while I was using it and eagerly awaited my turn. He has struggled with leg pain for a long time and his doctor has recommended massage to ease the pain. He was very happy with this device as it also helped with his pain. It really tires your hand/arm after holding it for a while. You should not use it for more than 20 minutes at a time. If you can ask someone to do it for you, it's much more peaceful. I am very happy with this product and looking forward to a massage after a long day at work. We just leave it tucked into the side of the couch so it's ready to go when we need it.
