Windows 10 was so slow that I wanted to throw the machine out the window. Login was slow. Minutes passed, many minutes before the machine overran the C: drive. The task manager says that drive C: is 100% loaded. I couldn't figure out what exactly was rattling. But I noticed that the average drive response time during the overload was typically hundreds of milliseconds (but returned to normal after the overload stopped). It was a problem. So I decided to replace the WD Blue mechanical drive with this SSD. The problem is solved! There is now no startup delay and the average access time is typically less than 1ms. Cloning a mechanical drive to an SSD was quick and hassle-free using the Acronis software available on the WD website.
