Very important! family loves!

We received this projector two days ago and my family is already in love with it! "HOORAY!" said my wife and kids the moment I plugged in the projector just to test it outdoors on a random wall. We are finishing our basement and wanted a projector/screen to make the new living space feel like a movie theater at times. And while we don't even have drywall in the basement (or a screen) yet, I bought this projector as I work to pre-order home theater components so we can get the installation done as quickly as possible. Setup was easy. I plugged in the power and connected the included HDMI cable to my device of choice β€” and I used my iPhone XR with Apple's Lightning to Digital AV Adapter to quickly test a movie from my phone. On the remote control (batteries not included) I selected the HDMI input that was connected to my phone. The projector instantly mirrored my phone until I played a movie from my VUDU app, at which point the projector automatically switched to full screen. I, of course, chose the Star Wars movie - the famous intro music immediately drew everyone's attention and everyone came to see what was happening. "Wow!" And while I have to spend my evenings after work cleaning up the basement so we can watch movies in style, we instead had two movie nights in a row because everyone loves this projector β€” even just against a random wall. in the house. The picture has excellent colors and was particularly bright when the sun was going down and no light was coming through the windows. We end up getting this in a completely dark, windowless room, and we couldn't be more excited. Of course it's not 4K, but here you get a great picture at a great price and we're very happy with it. (The attached image doesn't do it justice.) Sound quality is good for a projector - not great by any means. I give 5 stars for the sound because that's normal for a projector. I hooked up active computer speakers to a small subwoofer for watching our "test" movies and it sounds way better (as expected). It gets even better when I finally hook up a true Dolby Atmos surround sound system in the next 60 days. We'll probably only use the computer speakers if we take them outside for big 400-inch movie nights with s'mores from time to time. An important note: you cannot enlarge the menu more than 100%. Settings, but you can shrink by percentage (99%, 98%, 97%) up to 75%. I didn't glean this detail from other reviews but that's why I wanted the projector beforehand. I closed the ceiling in the basement to check the projection distance and know exactly where to install and adjust where I routed the power to the ceiling. This projector gives you an approximately 100 inch projection at approximately 11 feet from the surface you are projecting onto. If I accidentally place the projector too close to the screen, it's not possible to zoom in from 100% to enlarge the display. So I recommend physically setting up the projector a few feet away from where you get the correct size at 100% zoom and then zooming out in the menu settings to get the final screen size. I haven't checked other screen sizes, but 100 inches is about 11 feet away, so I'll position the projector about 12-14 feet from the screen when I'm making my final cuts. Adjusting the focus and keystone was very easy. When retracting, make sure you rotate the focus until the lens is fully back in the unit. For some reason there was a lens cap that doesn't actually fit in the protruding projector lens mechanism, but does fit in the unit with the lens fully retracted - the "Lens cap" covers the hole. You will understand what I mean once you receive it. You don't want to scratch the lens when trying to put the lens cap on the protruding lens. I bought a Jifar projector mount. Although I haven't installed it yet, it works by turning the projector upside down. No problem, as the menu settings allow you to rotate the image in different directions to suit your setup. You really have to point the remote directly at the projector unit to get a response. was my only minor complaint if there is one. You can't just sit back and expect the projector to pick up the signal. It seemed more sophisticated than other IR remotes I've had in the past. Delivery was quick. I've only had Revain Prime for a few days. Here's to more family fun evenings!
