I learned popcorn after my Black and Decker broke after almost 20 years! This popper had no negative reviews at that time. When I first used it I didn't fill the cup so open hot corn kernels shot at me and my kitchen. On the second try I filled the cup copiously, soon I had grains spilled all over the countertop (two handfuls), the bowl you use to catch popcorn needs to be rotated to keep it from overflowing and you still end up with hot grains shoot into you. This is a terrible design and not safe to use. The same product has 50% bad reviews on another seller's website! I even found the popped grains ended up in my toaster! Dangerous for unsupervised children!
