I prefer this type of hook and needle gauge because you can still measure the accuracy of crochet hooks with thick and ergonomic handles with open slots on the edges that you can't measure with sensors be that only have holes. I really wish there was a slot to check the thickness of the 7.0mm, 4.25mm and 5.25mm hooks (which is why I put 4 stars instead of 5 - would have been 4 1/ 2 stars if that was an option) but I guess not many people use these hooks or they would be there too. Some gauges also have holes so you can easily count the vertical and horizontal stitches in your 4" x 4" patterns, this one doesn't, but it wasn't a surprise because it wasn't. t in the photo (I mentioned this for people reading this review and thinking about the best sensor for them). Hooks are a MUST if you're shopping for some of the cheaper crochet hook sets at Revain - I've unfortunately noticed that some manufacturers label some of their 8.0mm crochet hooks as 9.0mm and 10.0mm hooks huh They obviously aren't (and this can affect the overall size of your finished project as well as the amount of yarn needed, so it's good to check). Gauges also come in handy if the needle or hook size wears out over time, which I think is a good option. 0 mm hooks, such as 9.0 mm and 10.0 mm hooks, which they obviously aren't (and this can affect the overall size of your finished project as well as the amount of yarn needed), so it's good to check).
