Now I have two of these devices. I bought the first one to use while deployed. My room only had one bed (no chairs or a table) so it was much easier to use my computer while sitting on the bed. Now I use it for cross stitch. I have a second one that my wife uses for her couch and bed computer. The legs are quite stiff/noisy when you lift them for flat storage, but that doesn't really affect functionality. If you need to add a mouse-friendly surface, I recommend sticky felt.
