My kids had a habit of waking up in the middle of the night and leaving the lights on. I saw them and was hooked on the idea of battery powered motion sensors! They use 3 AAA batteries and have a magnet on the back. So if you need to place them on a metal surface, this is perfect. It also comes with 3 double-sided round ribbons to place anywhere. Hand-sized lights. The sensors are very sensitive, but they don't work when light is nearby. After just a week I love them! Can't wait to see my next light bill. But also advice. Before placing them, I had one of my children walk down the dark hallway I chose to get an idea of what areas they would be drawn to. The motion sensor thus records the movement. Also, remember to place them high enough so small animals don't constantly trigger the sensors.
