The printer recognizes the type of label inserted. If you try to print on a different paper size, a printer error occurs. So if the printer knows it has 1.1 x 3.5 inch labels loaded and you try to print 1.1 x 3.0 inches, you will get an error message and have to physically go to the printer and reset it. So if you thought you bought continuous labels so they could be cut to the paper size you set, you're wrong! This is the size defined by the printer and nothing else. Worse, at one point my printer thought it was loaded at 1.1 x 3.5 inches when it was actually loaded at 2.4 inches. It was just impossible to print anything. Because when I chose 2.4 inch width, it thought it loaded 1.1 inch. And nothing 1.1" wide could be printed because 2.4" was actually inserted. After the initial setup, I was never able to print anything on 2.4 inch wide labels again. And half the software doesn't work if the printer is connected to a network, not via USB. It's sold as a network printer, remember?
