Review on Laritelle Organic Hair Care Velvet by Julie Burton

Terrible Shampoo and Conditioner

I bought Laritelle Fertile Roots because my hair has been thinning a bit over the past few months. Before these products I used to use Alterna Caviar on dry hair. It made my hair look good but I decided to give this product a try after reading some reviews and an article in Elle magazine. Big mistake. First, I started using Minoxidil 2% about a month ago. I immediately noticed a difference with Minoxidil. Every time I wash my hair with shampoo and conditioner, ie every 3-4 days, my hair falls out about 80% less. So you can't blame Minoxidil. I was happy but thought I would try this product as a supplement to restore my hair to its healthy, virgin state. As soon as I switched to this product, my hair loss started again and my hair started breaking. Worse than originally. It also completely washed out my red Schwarzkopf hair color and turned my hair pink in places. And broke my highlights like dry twigs. Schwarzkopf reds have some of the best reds in the industry due to the molecular structure of the dyes, but these products ruined the color. So my hairdresser has to completely redye my hair. 150 dollars. This has never happened to me with any other shampoo or conditioner I've used. My stylist even uses Olaplex when coloring and I use it between treatments and the Laritelle product still manages to mess up my hair. The product also tangled my hair so badly the first time I used it that I could barely comb it out with a wide-toothed comb. I've never had this problem with Alterna or any other shampoo and conditioner. I went as far as using the product every other day hoping it would improve hoping the oils would build up but no such luck. I tried 4 times. The fourth time I got red pimples on my scalp which could also clog the scalp. You have no idea how bad my bangs look just because of this product. I have to trim at least 3-4 inches because the product has tangled the bangs from matting, knotting, and drying out. My guess is that the PH of the shampoo and conditioner isn't right. I emailed Laritelle about the product at the time of purchase but never received a response from anyone. So your subsequent actions are not very good either. I wouldn't recommend this product, but it might work if you don't dye your hair at all and wear it short. I seriously don't understand how this product got into Elle magazine unless Laritelle paid her to rank. The smell is also quite overpowering. Woodstock is overwhelming. Eventually the pumps didn't work on any of the bottles. You would think the $50 a bottle design would be better. *Update 4/9/2021* I tried the oil just to see if it works better. It has also caused my hair to break. Something is wrong with this formula. Send back.
