The handle mounts simply by tightening the screw. While it's convenient, it's also vulnerable to theft as it doesn't require tools to secure. Wrench or a special wrench that fixes it to the pole while holding the screw so the position on the pole can be easily adjusted. The phone grip forces you to touch the bottom half of the smartphone, otherwise the contact points will end up on top of the phone button side. This makes it less stable as it increases vibration at higher RPM for single cylinder bikes. The rubber mesh accessory that comes with the X-Grip provides additional grip and reduces the half-inch lag that would otherwise cause the phone to rotate in either direction. I bought this mount based on the rave reviews, but now I regret it after learning that the phone has a lag that causes it to rotate half an inch.
