I would say these shoes are pretty much true to size as he is usually a 9 or 9.5 due to having wide feet. As the description doesn't say if they are wide or not I decided to go half a size up and chose 9.5 and they fit him perfectly. I got these for my significant other who needed new sneakers to get back in and before work and he wears safety boots to work. I took out the laces and replaced them with rubber bands so they still look like regular laces, but now he can use these shoes as slip-ons. As they are made of mesh material, it is obvious that they are not waterproof. Now in the summer they will do him good, but they have to be changed in the rain and snow, which can be inconvenient. These types of shoes are usually easy to clean too, but I haven't had to clean them yet. so I can't comment on how well they did it. Or how long they last.
