As they say, I want to give a review that may be useful for buyers of this egg cooker. I bought this 12 egg pressure cooker over the 6 egg cooker to expand my ability to cook more eggs when needed. The cooking time is entirely determined by the amount of water used. When the water has evaporated, cooking in the oven is finished. I decided to call tech support for more specific instructions. I was told to use 6 egg recommended water for 1-6 eggs and 12 egg recommended water for 7-12 eggs. The problem is that organic farm eggs may take longer to cook than store-bought eggs because they're more likely to be fresher. So the recommended water that determines the cooking time depends on the type of eggs used and the size. I'm still experimenting with the fresh and organic eggs we use, but I'm seeing where this cooker can save me money. a lot of time and trouble cooking eggs. When boiling eggs, at least one of them usually bursts in the water, forming a frothy mass. Then comes the challenge of getting them out of the water in time for them to be cooked but not overcooked. There are no problems with this stove if you know how much water to use. When I make breakfast for my family of three, I fry 8 eggs in a pot and also make hash browns and either sausage or bacon. The fried eggs need to be watched so they all turn over before the yolks overcook. Some will inevitably get overcooked yolks, and often at least one will break when flipped. The poaching bowls in this egg cooker allow me to cook up to 7 eggs and I don't have to watch or turn any of them. To cook the 8th egg, I place it in a pan that fits under the dome and on top of the smaller poached egg tray. This cooker is also great for steaming vegetables and other foods when you need to steam a batch. If you prefer eggs in a different shape, you can use egg tins in this cooker. pots. If you used distilled water and wiped the base unit dry immediately after cooking, you won't get water stains. very useful for some things, but for an experienced cook some things are easier to do in the usual way. Hard-boiled eggs should not be beaten. You can hard boil up to 12 eggs without cracking them in boiling water and they're always perfectly cooked. For me it is worth having this device. Personally, I don't find an omelet pan viable for omelets since everything that goes in has to be cooked separately, but this pan is perfect for cooking two poached eggs per serving. UPDATE 8/19/18: Every time I use this stove I am amazed at how easily it has done what you might think to be a simple task. Hard boiled eggs are easy, right? Boil the water and put the eggs in the water for about 10 minutes. Bring the water to a boil and slowly lower the eggs into the water one at a time. POP! One of the eggs has cracked and you have to get it out of the water before all the egg whites fall into the boiling water. not become gummy. I made a Caesar salad tonight that calls for 2 eggs in the dressing and 6 hard boiled eggs in the salad. I used to have to wait to make a dressing so I could use boiled eggs, beaten in water, in the dressing. This time I put 2 eggs in the dressing and hard boiled 6 in this cooker with 5 ounces of water. The hard boiled eggs were perfect and easy to peel once cooled in a bowl of cold water. UPDATE 9/25/18: I should probably replace the original video as this was one of my disasters. Since then I haven't had any more overflow problems. I've used this stove a few times for breakfast and poached eggs. They come out in the shape of an egg but will cook how you like depending on the water you add. With this cooker, I don't have to worry about frying eggs and turning them before the yolks set. I can boil 8 eggs needed for a family breakfast by placing an egg in a small pan on the stove. I'm now hard-boiled eggs. I also often use it for poached eggs for the family and for myself as a late night snack instead of greasy snacks. I place 3 eggs in the smaller poached egg bowl, add 3.25 ounces of water and the machine beeps when the eggs are done. The egg white is cooked and the yolk is lightly cooked but still a little runny - just how I like it. It should be noted here that the required cooking time for eggs can vary depending on the egg used. Fresh grass-fed eggs take a little longer to cook than store-bought eggs, which may not be as fresh and may come from non-grazed chickens. UPDATE 9/12/19: I've had this egg cooker for over 18 months now and I'm still finding new uses for it. My 99-year-old mother moved in with us 8 years ago and stands up in front of me with her husband. So he cooks her breakfast, which is usually oatmeal since he doesn't cook. I recently made 7 poached eggs for her in this cooker and froze them on a baking sheet before putting them in a bag. My husband microwaves the eggs on low for 1 1/2 minutes and the yolks are still soft. I also make waffles that he can warm up for her in the toaster. Eggs and waffles are the perfect breakfast for my mom, and my husband just has to heat them up for her. No matter how many times we use this egg cooker, it still looks and works like new. I use BarKeeper's Friend to clean the baseplate and it's still shiny and new. I added a picture of the eggs after they were frozen.
