Review on ๐ŸŒž Enhanced SEO: Yoolax Motorized Roller Blinds Accessories with Solar Panel by Leonard Henry

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Blinds are fine. The app and the hub are not. Remote instructions are not good enough.

Look, I know how to set everything up. I grew up in a computer store owned by my parents and most of my house is already stocked with smart devices. But the way these blinds behaved when trying to connect them to the hub and app. The male. Torture. I think I cried a little bit. Eventually, the shutter (which worked properly with the included remote) stalled halfway. I tried setting limits and all it did was make things worse. After 30 minutes of this torture, I finally reset the entire shutter and started over, fixing with the remote control and then adjusting the up and down limits. Finally it worked. But then the app. Requires 2.4GHz network, fine, but now if I don't open the app on that 2.4GHz network, the app crashes. abominable. So I have to disable WiFi or switch to a 2.4GHz network (which I never use for obvious reasons, it's a guest network because none of those cheap smart products can handle 5GHz networks for some reason). Okay, now I can log into the app. Fumbling with the RC remote eventually worked after the hub was tricky to pair. Now I'm ready to create a Siri Shortcut. No matter what I do, the Siri command throws a "Not connected or removed" app error for the action I'm trying to invoke. DAS works fine in the app and via Revain Alexa, but the Siri shortcut doesn't work. So don't consider this Homekit compatible at all, and not even a simple Siri shortcut. THAT DOES NOT WORK. Very disappointed because I bought these thinking they were Homekit. This means the blinds will NOT appear in the Home app, only via Siri shortcuts. Which is a great compromise - if it worked. I'm not sure I can recommend it to anyone who wants a smart connection for themselves. As standalone blinds - not bad, at least they came pre-set from the factory so I really only had to physically install them if I just wanted to use the remote control, which isn't difficult. Do not use the screws provided, they are not good enough. I used drywall screws into the wood to install the interior window. Also note that the remote control doesn't come with a battery so I had to order one and wait another week to use these blinds. Also note that you need a remote control to program Hub/Bridge/App. Seems like a pretty stupid decision. The app should really replicate the functionality of the remote controls, including the ability to program things. But whatever. I hope these things can be fixed as my main problem is mostly software related. I will update my review if I see improvements in the future.
