I bought this out of sheer desperation when my son was 1 week old. He slept in a bassinet about ten times his size, so he seemed very unsafe in a large room. This cradle saved the day. The small size helped him feel comfortable in his bed. I really like that it's on wheels. I carried it around the house in a cradle. The little thing under the basket is great for storing extra blankets, baskets or anything else you might need while you sleep. I did not use the canopy - I was too tired assembling the cradle. Speaking of montages, this was pretty easy to do, even for a sleep-deprived new mom. My husband had to help me snap the piece of fabric over the frame - it was quite tight but that's a good thing because the fabric forms the sides of the tote. My son has been sleeping in this bed for 2 months now with no problems. The mattress is really thin but he doesn't seem to care. It comes with a small sheet but I used mattress sheets when the sheet that came with it got dirty. Pack and play sheets are too big for this, but work in a pinch if the extra fabric is folded under the mattress. Overall I am very happy with this purchase. I'll be saving that for baby #2 for sure!
