It's ok but there are some flaws in the logic

It's great made but I'm having some issues with its design. This is my subjective opinion. This new version seems a bit restrictive compared to the previous version. Now you only have 2x 1/4" taps on the underside to take the battery cover. Here's the problem. If you mount it on a tripod, you have to unscrew something to get to the battery compartment. The only advantage is, which I see this new version comes with an access door when the camera is not attached to anything I find it quicker to unscrew the bottom plate than to take it off the tripod They discontinue the old model which I prefer in hindsight would now so as it gave me more taps on the bottom for more convenient mounting options. to be honest they should carve it like a full cage. that makes more sense. also not many options to match this design. their 2 Taps (horizontal) over the side slot of the cold shoe This means it will not work with any of their grips There are no front taps for the FTZ adapter plate Mount I have easily used an Arca-Swiss -Could add cymbals, it would be 100 times more fun than now. It's close but not quite right for my needs yet and I don't want a full cage

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Hard to tell
