I bought this kit to replace pre-filled grinders from the grocery store. Pre-filled coffee grinders left little black plastic shavings in the salt. I couldn't figure out what all those black glasses were where. So I put some salt in a bowl of water. The salt dissolved and black chunks floated to the surface. Rough. So I smashed these mills to salvage the contents and filled these mills with levav. I really like this set. The lids are held firmly in place thanks to the seals. And the ceramic grinder is very smooth-running and quiet. I can't even hear the peppercorns cracking or grinding or the Himalayan salt. And no more plastic rubbing in the salt.
