:) I bought this to vacuum the bottom of the pool. It may seem strange, but that's what is being done. I could use a pool system but I don't like sending crap to a DE pool filter if I can avoid it. It made it. Since it was a pool and not 2 inches of water in a basement or something, I had to drill a 3/8 hole in the extension, closer to the top so it would draw water in slower than it would without it. A piece so made that fits on the head of the vacuum cleaner, but it didn't work because it was at the bottom of the pool. So I drilled an extension tube near the top where I keep it. It worked fine. Then I sucked some, I could just put my thumb on him for a second and he would get it. If I had one criticism I would say that even with a hole no matter where it is it still collects too much water, the instructions say so too. Even though it's pumping water overboard in the direction of travel you have to make each stop for a few seconds, take your head out of the water, hold down the switch and pump water out of the tub, but oh well, I wanted to empty the pool with no data to the DE filter in the pool, and I did. Once I got the hang of it, everything worked flawlessly. :)
