I've been a photographer for decades and I'm very demanding in my photography. My first three point and shoot digital cameras were actually Kodak and I was surprisingly happy with them. My last three cameras were Sony and I was very happy with the quality of the photos until they had flash issues for the first year. Bought this Kodak PIXPRO Astro Zoom AZ901-BK a few days before Christmas, arrived on Saturday December. 21, hoping to take Christmas photos. A big mistake over time ordered and assumed the new camera would work. Everything that could go wrong with this camera has happened. The camera stopped; You can see the screen but none of the buttons work. I had to constantly pull the battery out to reset it. I didn't want to focus most of the time (no matter what modes I chose) and even when it indicated it was in focus, most of the photos were blurry. So the photo quality was very unpredictable, with an acceptable rate of around 10-20%. What a missed opportunity for nature and family moments. urrrgh The best consolation was when we returned it to the local Kohl branch a few days after Christmas. The queue moved quickly. We only waited a few minutes for the entire refund process as we queued. Kolsa's cashier just scanned our return code on my husband's phone, quickly sealed the box we brought and printed out a return receipt. I'm sure it was a broken camera but what a horrible time and experience. The camera body was nice and solid. Although the visibility and the screen are significantly inferior to the Sony HX400V. Sony was also quick to focus on small, fast and distant subjects; I had clear, stunning photos of hummingbirds and butterflies pretty consistently.
