Review on 8TB Seagate Backup Plus Hub Desktop Hard Drive with Data Recovery Services by Hayden Iskandar ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A great option for this money, I definitely recommend it!

After reading reviews of other Seagate products, I anticipated that this particular model would also produce different types of noise while it was operating. On the other hand, I was pleasantly delighted to find that the CD is virtually completely inaudible. Placed to copy the data on it for the night, and it did not interfere with the copying process in any way. In order to hear anything, you have to be absolutely silent while you listen. It is necessary to download the Seagate Dashboard from its website in order to disable the bright indicator, as it can be distracting when used at night. Once you have done so, you can disable the indicator using the settings on the Seagate Dashboard. After that, you can delete it because there is no longer a need for the software. You may be accustomed to seeing a USB 3.1 interface on newer gadgets, along with a USB-C connection, but in this case, everything is done in the conventional manner. The maximum write speed of the disk is less than 50 megabytes per second. It took 26 hours to copy 4 terabytes of data. Because the disk is only used for backups, it is switched off the majority of the time, so it is unclear what the built-in USB hub's two front-facing ports are supposed to be used for. In addition, additional USB connectors are not useful in any way. Because of this, there are none. The exact capacity is 14.000.383.32420220 bytes, which equates to 12.7 terabytes. Although it is obvious why, many people are confused by this. According to CrystalInfo, there is a Seagate Exos X16 hard drive located on the inside (ST14000NM001G-2KJ103)

Pros
  • + Adequately huge capacity + Affordable pricing + Simple to connect + Very silent + The power supply comes with four interchangeable plugs that can be used in any socket type, so it's ready to go right out of the box. Included in the price is a two-month license for Adobe, but I don't need it because I already have it.
Cons
  • Interface for the now-defunct USB 3.0 standard that uses a Micro-USB cable - The software is not included; in order to get it, you will need to do your own search on the Seagate website and then manually download it. On the other hand, doing so is not necessary. There is no power switch on the housing; in order to turn off the device, you will need to unplug it. - A flashing light that indicates that work needs to be done.
