Okay, full confession. I'm not good with tools. I understand their purpose, I can confuse a bit, but by and large I'm a checkbook repairman. My wife finds out what she wants, I'm talking about someone with a better relationship with tools coming here to carry out her plan. The other day my 15 year old 46 inch Westinghouse flat panel monitor mounted above my gas fireplace breathed its last. I don't know what's wrong with that, but it wouldn't start on startup, probably a power surge because all the clocks in the house were flashing indicating a power outage. But it was old and it was a stupid TV and prices for new TVs have dropped like crazy so to be happy I'm throwing the old one away and will trade it for a new one. Not so fast. The binding I paid $150 for and the guys I paid $150 for tricked me into doing pull ups, it looked very strong, it could adjust side to side a little bit and a little bit to be inclined. God damn I don't need a new mount, I have one, simple, ok, right. Long story short after figuring out how to detach our old TV from the mount by unclipping the bottom pair of hooks and lifting it straight up from the top. My wife and I nearly committed suicide while attaching brackets to our new 55 inch TV and preparing to hang the TV. No, the mount goes into the wall as the old TV was thicker and had a slight bulge at the back. Finally, hanging the TV from the top rail showed that the mount didn't even let me reach the power cord. It took almost an hour to get this new TV off the old shelf. I hate the creators of this rack, I wish them harm. I started reading reviews and came across this mount. Since the bracket inserts into the box, this seemed like the perfect solution. The box arrives in 2 days (thanks Prime). I paid about $25 for it using their coupon and when I opened the box I was amazed at how much stuff was in the box and how well the pieces fitted. Each type was boxed and labeled, different sizes of everything, screws, spacers, levers, everything. I pulled the mount out, very well done, seems very high quality and it made sense just by looking at it. The two previous holes in the existing panel were used and the bracket was raised and leveled in about 5 minutes. The back of the new TV didn't require any additional brackets, the bracket fitted perfectly. After figuring out the spacers, it was my turn for 5 minutes. I called my wife to help put the TV on the shelf, 2 minutes. Tightened the mounting screws, and my TV started to work. This mount allows my TV to fit snugly in the shelf of my old TV and I can rotate it left or right to view when I'm alone, otherwise it's pointing straight at the wall. I'm not very good with a screwdriver, socket wrench and drill, but this has made me look like a TV-hanging genius. These people did everything right. Many Thanks.
