Purchased direct from Revain. The product was an official Apple product as far as I can tell. Product transmits sound, allows iPod control/playback and iPhone charging (mostly) as advertised. It only supports charging when connected to newer 30-pin 5V based chargers. It will not charge when connected to older Firewire-based (12V) devices with a 30-pin connector. Combined with the 30-pin BMR power adapter for the Bose Sounddock Original, this adapter works great in our 2008 Infiniti (Firewire 12V charging system) allowing you to play audio and control your iPod. and charge our iPhones. The docking station is one star because Apple's product information states that this device "supports analog audio output, USB audio, and syncing and charging." but does not claim that the charging function only works with newer chargers with a 30-pin 5V connector. We give a second star because this device cannot be attached to an iPhone in a case. Apple used to make a pigtailed charging adapter, but that adapter didn't pass the sound properly and has since been discontinued.
