The bento box looks well made and the lid seems pretty solid. It comes with a plug, but honestly it seems unnecessary. The lid snaps easily onto the bento box without much effort and doesn't make a loud click, which I think would be good for a child. It's microwaveable and dishwasher safe, which is definitely a plus. Overall a pretty solid bento box. I think it would be ideal for food prep if you invested in 5-7 of these and just tossed them all in the dishwasher instead of using those cheap black food prep containers.
