I was looking for something to protect my wooden table because I spilled drinks on it which caused it to warp a bit and I will be painting a lot in the future and don't want paint or water spills. Because liquids can still seep through newspaper and paper towels, my artist friend recommended these types of clear "napkins" so you can see the table without ruining it. I wasn't sure about this product because there was a plastic smell that didn't go away for the first few days. However, I decided to hose it down and wash it off with soap and water in the shower and the smell is finally gone! I am now enjoying the product and so far it has worked as intended. I'd rather buy a $30 plastic topper than a brand new table!
