I didn't use the chain cutter as I wanted to get rid of the old chain, I just used a Dremel cutting wheel to cut the link plate. Much easier than trying to knock out a pin. Every chain breaker I've looked at has had reviews complaining about the pin breaking. I think you have to grind the head of the pen and be very careful to get the tool right inside the pen for this to work. These chains are used on bikes over 100 hp to make them stiff. Anyway, enough of that. The tool included full-color, one-page instructions that fit in the case's pocket and showed how to orient it for different uses. This is good as there are quite a few combinations. For my use; By installing a DID chain and a rivet lock everything worked perfectly. You should read the instructions carefully as they contain combinations that work with different chains and main link types. It's great to have that kind of flexibility as I think I will have this tool for a long time. I like it very much, highly recommended.
