I just changed the rear transmission oil seal on my 2001 Ford Ranger. I read on my forum that if the current gear has a groove, you should put a bushing on it, otherwise you can expect another leak pretty quickly. When I changed the transmission seal I actually used this bushing to get a good surface without scoring on the transmission. It took some force to get the gear up, but just a few steady center hits with a gentle hammer did the job! Be sure to press it in the middle so it doesn't bend. So far it's working well enough! Very good product! I know others make these types of products but SKF worked for my ranger! —Nigel
