Matte microfiber increases the surface area of these towels to lift dirt and stains. They are small, 6 x 7 inches, and therefore have limitations on how to use them appropriately. I bought a pack of 12 and enjoy being able to keep them in different places like bathroom, kitchen or near a chair without taking up much space. I prefer large microfiber cloths for cleaning windows and mirrors, but they work well for my glasses. I try to clean my glasses gently and wash them in the sink first before using a cloth. The lenses also have a protective coating against scratches. I have not seen any scratch marks from these fabrics.
